Duelling rallies underscore growing chasm in U.S. politics

A conservative rally drew thousansd to hear Glen Beck and Sarah Palin at the Lincoln Memorial; others marched in honour of Martin Luther King.




A rally organised by TV personality Glenn Beck has been heavily criticised for being held on the anniversary of the March on Washington by Martin Luther King JR and his supporters.

Reverend Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders held a competing event to commemorating that day 47 years ago.
