The US leader was at his most relaxed as he enjoyed a weekend break to Panama City Beach.

Barack and Michelle congratulate the nine-year-old on scoring a hole in one.

The family also took a dolphin-spotting cruise.

And got lucky when one swam right alongside their boat.

From shooting the breeze with his daughters in the Oval Office to cooking his family a meal once a week, President Barack Obama has made it clear that he has one role that’s non-negotiable – his job as First Dad.

This weekend the world’s most powerful man snatched a 24-hour break with his wife Michelle and their youngest, nine-year-old Sasha in a Florida coastal resort.

With her big sister Malia at summer camp, the youngest had her father all to herself and was revelling in the attention, smiling from ear to ear as the pair went swimming at Panama City’s beach.

Then Barack, a keen golfer, took his girls off to Pirates’ Island miniture course.

Much to the US leader’s delight Sasha got a hole-in-one on her first attempt. He gave her a high-five, declaring her stroke “unbelievable”.

The proud father then turned to the press and asked: “Did you see that?”

Their flying visit, which included a dolphin-spotting cruise, also served as a gesture of support for the Gulf region after the recent oil spill.

“As a result of the clean-up effort beaches all along the Gulf Coast are clean, they are safe and they are open for business,” the president told reporters. “That’s one of the reasons Michelle, Sasha and I are here.”
