This is the moment Nicolas Sarkozy was today attacked while meeting and greeting voters in France.
The 55-year-old President was grabbed by a 43-year-old man as he visited the town of Brax, near Toulouse.
'President Sarkozy was shaking hands with people across a crash barrier when he was attacked,' said an onlooker.

'The man reached out as if he wanted to shake the President's hand, but then he grabbed him by the suit lapel and sent him flying.
'Plain-clothes security guards moved in immediately and bundled the attacker to the grounds. The President looked very shaken and white-faced, but otherwise he looked unhurt.'
An Elysee Palace source in Paris confirmed that the attacker had been restrained by four members of the presidential security and protection service.
He said the unnamed attacker, who is French and a local man, was now in custody in nearby Agen.
'He was taken away very quickly, allowing President Sarkozy to continue with his walk-about,' said the Elysee source.
The man faces up to three years in prison and a £40,000 fine if found guilty of assaulting a public figure, said a judicial source in Paris.
Mr Sarkozy's aggressive manner has led to frequent unpleasant incidents while on walk-about. In 2008 he was involved in a crude slanging match with a member of the public at a farm show in Paris, telling him: 'Get lost, you poor cretin'.
Earlier in his presidency, Mr Sarkozy threatened to have a fight with a fisherman who had been baiting him about his high salary.
Mr Sarkozy has also frequently had projectiles including coins and stones thrown at him during trips to high-rise housing estates around major cities.
He also caused widespread anger as Interior Minister by describing a gang of his young tormentors as 'scum'.
Death threats including bullets have also been received for Mr Sarkozy at the Elysee Palace.
Despite all this, today is the first time anybody is thought to have got close enough to physically attack the President.
Earlier this year it emerged that Mr Sarkozy was starting to use a £10,000 bullet-proof umbrella to protect him from attackers.
It followed opinion polls which portrayed him as the most unpopular head of state in recent Gallic history.
The umbrella is carried by security guards who have to be taller than the 5ft 5ins president.

US Defence Secretary Robert Gates, who oversaw attempts to salvage troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, retires on Thursday after a stint that won him praise across the political spectrum.
The 67-year-old Washington insider rose through the ranks of the CIA during the Cold War to become the spy agency’s director before returning to government to take over as defence chief at a fraught moment in the Iraq conflict.
Mr Gates began his four-and-a-half-year Pentagon stint by helping to manage the troop surge credited with defusing spiraling violence in Iraq, a result he says is his most important accomplishment.
“I think, had we left here (Iraq) with our tail between our legs and with chaos, it would have been very bad for our army and for our military,” the understated Kansan, known for plain speaking and pragmatism, told CBS news.
Former president George W. Bush named Gates in 2006 to the Pentagon job to succeed the combative Donald Rumsfeld, who had become a lightning rod for criticism over the controversial Iraq war and the handling of detainees.
In the aftermath of the turbulent Rumsfeld era, Mr Gates eased tensions and repaired relations with the military brass, Congress and allies abroad.
But after more than four years as what he called “secretary of war,” the weight of the job began to show. His voice would often crack with emotion when he spoke to young soldiers in the field.

Brad thinks the High Court blew it:
"I am so sick of the BS in this country where we lean on the word verbatim of the constitution, it was written over 2 hundred years ago when they could never imagine how the world would change, it is time to start to use a little common sense. If minors cannot be protected from some of the nonsense in these video games why have any rules at all?"
But Jon from Lorton says there is a difference between violent games, which now cannot be restricted, and pornography, which still can:
"....Regardless of what it does for or to the viewers, pornography involves the abuse of young women. Graphic violence probably isnt too good for our childrens minds either. The only saving grace here is that parents NEED TO BE AWARE of what their children are up to, whether the Supreme Court or the State of California are looking out for them, or in this case, not."

Award winning film maker Nick Broomfield backs project in Zanzibar
An architect is being sought by film industry leaders including documentary-maker Nick Broomfield to restore an art deco cinema on the tropical island of Zanzibar.
The Majestic Cinema, designed by Scottish architect John Houston Sinclair in the 1920s and one of the first cinemas in Africa, has become dilapidated and has a leaking roof.
Now, a project has been launched by the Zanzibar International Film Festival to redevelop the building, which is also known as the “Cinema Paradiso of Zanzibar” and is located on the Unesco World Heritage site Stone Town.
According to Scotland on Sunday, the campaign is backed by Bafta award winning film-maker Broomfield, whose documentaries include Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer, Kurt and Courtney, and Battle for Haditha.
“He [John Houston Sinclair] designed a number of buildings in Zanzibar and the Majestic is one of his finer pieces of work,” Broomfield told the paper.
“He was a famous colonial architect and was very inspired by India – a lot of his buildings have this wonderful oriental flourish that you never quite get in the UK. They have a real romance and poetry about them.
“The problem now is that there is very little money in Zanzibar, so we’re really hoping to generate some interest in order to raise some funds.”
The estimated cost of the restoration is around £300,000, and Broomfield added that it would be “great” to get a Scottish architect to take on the project, given the building’s heritage.
Neil Baxter, secretary of the RIAS, told Scotland on Sunday that he backs the project and the prospect of an architect from north of the border getting involved.
“Sinclair was far from alone in creating architecture in far-flung places and he certainly won’t be the last to do so,” he said
On Wednesday, President Obama announced that he will be withdrawing 10,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year and the remaining 23,000 "surge" troops by the end of next summer, leaving 68,000 troops to be withdrawn gradually until combat operations end in 2015.
