Two trains collide in Florida derailing 20 rail cars, spilling fuel and injuring two crew members

By KHALEDA RAHMAN FOR DAILYMAIL.COM

Two trains loaded with coal and phosphate rock collided in Florida, derailing and causing at least 20 rail cars to tumble over and spill fuel.

Authorities said two people sustained minor injuries in the incident at a crossing on Northeast 175th Street and Pine Church Road in Citra at around 4.15am on Wednesday.

CSX Corp. owns both trains and said a fuel spill has been reported at the site.

A hazardous materials team has been called in to contain it and assess the situation as a precaution, according to reports.

But CSX said there was no immediate hazmat threat to the public as phosphate rock is not hazardous, Florida Today reports.

Four crew members were involved in the incident. Two employees on one train were treated for minor injuries, but the two staff aboard the other train were not hurt.
